 Jessica Pyfer

My name is Jessica Pyfer, I am 22 years old and I am about to start my career as a Professional Thoroughbred Jockey. I have ridden in equestrian my entire life. Previously I rode in Hunter/Jumpers and traveling throughout the country as well as internationally. My family is full of equestrians so I was basically bred to be an equestrian as well. My mother rode and trained Hunter/Jumpers as well as riding a few races and galloping on the racetrack for over 30 years. My biological father was a jockey as well, and my step-father is Philip D'Amato, a top thoroughbred trainer who has horses stabled across the country. When I turned 16 and was able to get a license on the racetrack, I started working for my fathers stable, first ponying the racehorses, then galloping and working horses before school. When I graduated high school I decided to sell my jumper and gallop on the racetrack early in the mornings and go to college after. I graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a Bachelors degree in Political Science and Pre-law this past spring. When thinking about what I wanted to do next, there was nothing but the thought of riding races in my mind. It is my passion and my love for the horses is greater than anything. I am very excited for what is to come and blessed to be able to follow my dream as a jockey.

Emma Weinert

International Grand Prix Rider and Trainer

From Sydney to San Diego:

Australian Emma Weinert started riding lessons as a child in her home city of Sydney, Australia, where she discovered a lifelong love for horses. As a teenager, Emma’s family bought her a warmblood horse, a big four year old gelding named Darius. From there, Emma was well and truly bitten by the dressage bug. An avid learner, Emma immersed herself in the sport and climbed the ranks to FEI levels on a team of horses she produced herself.

Lindsey Burns

I train horses for a living, specializing in preparing ottbs for new careers. I also help in my husband's race stable. I graduated a few years ago with a degree in biology, but I decided that living a passionate life doing what I truly love was the better direction. I was a trainer for the rrp Thoroughbred Makeover last year and ended up 8th of 300 for the Thoroughbred Ambassador Award. I compete regularly in local dressage, jumping, and eventing shows and I'm always keeping my eye out for that special horse to 'take all the way.' I am the vice president of the largest chapter of the Idaho Dressage and Eventing Association and the head instructor for the Boise Pony Club. My friends refer to me as the one wearing all the colors and I'm known for my incessant positivity.
